Kerry Mosley

Update on 25 June 2009

Kerry's fascination with textiles began in the late 1990s when she seized the chance to take a part time course in Art and Design whilst her children were at primary school. Prior to that she had enjoyed drawing but with academic studies, her career and then her young family taking up much of her time she had not had the opportunity to indulge her interest in art.

The Access course led to a degree in Art and Design at Bradford College where she studied under Diane Bates for textiles. Since graduating she has continued to work with textiles, has discovered an interest in portraiture and has been invited to exhibit work both nationally and internationally.

"I use my own technique of machine stitch on knitted wire to create both large scale and smaller decorative wall hangings and framed pieces that I hope are both pleasing on the eye and increasingly thought provoking."

Kerry recently undertook a course at Bankfield Museum in Halifax led by the 62 Group artist Hilary Bower. With her support and encouragement, she has been concentrating on developing not only working methods but also the themes and concepts that underpin and inform her work.
