Texture, form, surface, composition and experimentation drive my visual artwork. I move between media and subject matter to explore these properties and do not restrict myself to one method or technique. My practice changes as I am influenced by others in collaborative work, community artwork and networking. I tend to remain committed to drawing, painting and printmaking throughout my experimentation.

I am a self-taught artist. I am a successful, independent, academic and kinaesthetic learner. I was a teacher in Bradford primary schools for twelve years and now have a much wider educational arts practice that has successfully delivered over 40 commissions in West Yorkshire since April 2007. My commissions are in adult learning, parent and child, community group, children's centre, special school, nursery, primary, secondary and post 16 phase settings. Community art work has opened new doors of perception, composition, scale and technique for me. It has direct impact and influence on my personal output and collaborative projects with other artists.

I am continually exploring new methods and opportunities to combine my background as a Peace graduate, DJ/promoter, father, primary school teacher and deputy Headteacher with my artistic practice. The city of Bradford has provided the backdrop to my adult life, and I am deeply and passionately connected with and committed to the city.
